Chief of Police Loos

Chief Loos has been in law enforcement for over 40 years. He first received his Associate's Degree in Law Enforcement in 1977 followed by a Bachelor of Public Administration in 2009 and a Masters of Administration in 2011. Chief Loos began his law enforcement career in 1977 as a Police Officer in Delaware County in New York State. He moved to Florida in 1981 and worked with the Melbourne Police Department and retired as a Lieutenant of Criminal Investigation in 2012. While working for Melbourne Police he held positions such as Acting Commander, Hostage Negotiator, Narcotics Investigator, Watch Commander and Criminal Investigations. Chief Loos was hired by Melbourne Village in 2012, was promoted to Sergeant in 2018 and has held the position of Chief since 2019.
