Chief of Police Loos
Chief Loos has been in law enforcement for over 40 years. He first received his Associate's Degree in Law Enforcement in 1977 followed by a Bachelor of Public Administration in 2009 and a Masters of Administration in 2011. Chief Loos began his law enforcement career in 1977 as a Police Officer in Delaware County in New York State. He moved to Florida in 1981 and worked with the Melbourne Police Department and retired as a Lieutenant of Criminal Investigation in 2012. While working for Melbourne Police he held positions such as Acting Commander, Hostage Negotiator, Narcotics Investigator, Watch Commander and Criminal Investigations. Chief Loos was hired by Melbourne Village in 2012, was promoted to Sergeant in 2018 and has held the position of Chief since 2019.

certified K9 Instructor and
Handler and has experience as a
Traffic Homicide Investigator and
Crash Reconstruction.

Officer Lanza started his police career in the Melbourne Village Police Department in 1997 and transferred to the City of Melbourne 1998. During his career with the Melbourne Police Department, he achieved the rank of Sergeant. He left the Melbourne Police Department in 2019 to return to the Melbourne
Village Police Department. Officer Lanza has a degree in Radiology. |
Officer Mason began his law enforcement career with the Melbourne Police Department in 2018. He joined the Melbourne Village Police Department in 2019.

Officer Scarlett began his career with the Mirimar Police Department in 1983 and served until 2007. He worked with the Port Canaveral Police Department from 2009-2014. He is a certified Traffic Homicide Investigator and has served as a Hostage Negotiator. He joined the Melbourne Village Police
Department in 2018. |
Officer Mangrum began her law enforcement career with the Brevard County Sheriff Department from 2015-2018. She joined the Melbourne Village Police Department in 2020.

Officer Caravano served the United States in the Marine Corps until his retirement after 20 years of service. He has worked for several departments including the Melbourne Airport Police, Palm Bay Police, Brevard County Sheriff’s Department and Cocoa Village Police with 29 years of combined service. He
was welcomed into the Melbourne Village Police Department this year. |
Officer Collen's Law Enforcement career was birthed in New England during the 1990's. He then moved to Florida in 2000 and served as a Medic before becoming a Police Officer in Brevard County; graduating first in class. During his tenure as an Officer he has served in various roles from DUI Officer,
Field Training Officer and Major Crimes Detective. In 2013 he joined the Melbourne Village Police Department and took on officer duties as well as some administrative functions; he was subsequently awarded Officer of the Year in 2016. He holds a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Emergency Management, and a Juris Doctorate degree. He has litigated for many legal cases. He currently serves our town as one of our Reserve Officers. |
Reserve Officer Sarivola |
Officer Sarivola has his Masters Degree in Administration. He worked for the Department of Corrections from 2001-2003. He then worked for the Brevard County Sheriff’s Department from 2005-2017 where he attained the rank of Sergeant. He was welcomed into the Melbourne Village Police
Department earlier this year. |
