Chief's Message

On behalf of the Town of Melbourne Village and the Melbourne Village Police Department, I would like to welcome you to the World Wide Web page of the Melbourne Village Police Department. Our intent, within the pages of this Web, will be to provide useful information which will assist you when you want to deal with the Melbourne Village Police Department.

The Town of Melbourne Village is located in Brevard County and is a community of just over 700 residents. The natural foliage and rural atmosphere found in the Village distinguish it from the metropolitan development found in its neighboring cities, West Melbourne and Melbourne. Incorporated in 1957, Melbourne Village has a rich and colorful history that dates from the Village's first settlers that moved here during the depression era to establish a self- sufficient community.

The Melbourne Village Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency providing service to the community 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A staff of 1 Chief, 1 Sergeant, 6 Patrol Officers, and 5 volunteers allows the department to provide many of the nontraditional services usually found only in larger police agencies. At the same time providing that personal touch that the larger agencies are unable to provide. We can be reached by calling (321) 725-7224, or our FAX number (321) 984-7219. The Melbourne Village Police Department is hooked up to the 911 Emergency System and those calls are dispatched through the Brevard County Sheriff's Office's dispatch center.
